Pro wrestling icon Hulk Hogan is unveiling his new beverage, "Real American Beer," with a three-day rollout this week across Illinois. He concludes his time in Illinois with three appearances scheduled for Friday in Champaign — capping his night with a watch party at KAMS on Green Street. The Illinois football team is playing its Big Ten Conference opener that night, on the road at Nebraska.
“I’ve got some unforgettable memories from my time wrestling in this state — like the Rosemont Horizon in ‘85, where I defended the WWF Championship,” Hogan said in a release. “Now, I’m back with Real American Beer, and we’re here to make history once again.”

Each of the stops include meeting the "Real American Beer" team including Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, beer samplings and getting exclusive "Real American Beer" merchandise.

Where will 'Real American Beer' be sold?
"Real American Beer" launched in four states in June 2024, with 13 more planned from the initial rollout, according to USA TODAY. The beer worked with Lakeshore Beverage, Skeff Distributing and Superior Beverage to ensure it reached retailers across Illinois, according to a release. Real American Beer is also scheduled to be available at places like Jewel Osco and Binny’s.
Earlier this year, USA TODAY reported that "Real American Beer"' will be sold in supermarket chains like Albertsons, Safeway, Sam’s Club and Walmart, as well as Total Wine & More alcohol retailers such as ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, according to a statement from the company.
What does 'Real American Beer' taste like?
According to a release, Hulk Hogan's "Real American Beer" is made with "100% North American malt and hops," and is a "full-flavored, crushable" light lager at 4.2% alcohol by volume. Each can carries a rich golden hue to ensure a "well-balanced taste," the news release said.
