‘Proud’ Rihanna Commands Attention in Custom Ala?a Dress, Talks A$AP Rocky’s Win at the 2024 FNAAs: ‘It’s About Time’
Rihanna made a surprise appearance at the 2024 Footwear News Achievement Awards on Wednesday night in New York. The pop star and entrepreneur attended in support of her partner, A$AP Rocky, who received the award for Best Collaboration for his work with Puma.
“It feels incredible, I’m so proud,” Rihanna told WWD. “He’s been influencing the fashion world culturally for a very long time, and to see him being honored for it, it’s something that I can’t even put into words how proud I am. He deserves it, and it’s about time.”

The Savage x Fenty founder wore a custom Ala?a gown, which featured a plunging neckline, gathered fabric at the hips and a sultry thigh-high slit. She accessorized the white-hot dress with Manolo Blahnik sandals, completing her look with jewelry by Chrome Hearts, Jacob & Co. and Van Cleef & Arpels.
Stylist Jahleel Weaver, who also works with Dua Lipa, dressed Rihanna for the occasion. Hairdresser Naphia White styled her dark tresses in an updo with bangs, while makeup artist Priscilla Ono used Fenty Beauty products to create her gorgeous glam.
In his acceptance speech, Rocky honored his partner of four years, with whom he shares two children: RZA and Riot Rose, born in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
“This is just like one of the best accomplishments ever,” the rapper said. “I saw my lady receive this thing almost a decade ago. She inspires me a lot.”
Rocky’s collection with Puma encompasses clothing and sneakers. His debut collection for the athletic brand was heavily inspired by motorsports and more specifically, Formula 1 racing.
“The thought of me being with Puma and making Collaboration of the Year, I mean, I didn’t even think that was really that possible, and look at us now.”
