Queer Eye Taps Jeremiah Brent to Replace Bobby Berk in Season 9
The first makeover of Queer Eye‘s upcoming ninth season has already happened: interior designer Jeremiah Brent has been named as the official replacement for original cast member Bobby Berk, who recently announced his departure from the Netflix reality show.
Brent is the founder of Jeremiah Brent Design, a full-service firm with locations in Los Angeles and New York City, as well as the lifestyle brand Atrio. He recently released his first book, The Space That Keeps You, which explores “what gives spaces meaning.” Brent has been married to fellow interior designer Nate Berkus since 2014.

Berk was Queer Eye’s resident interior designer since the show debuted in 2018; he announced in Nov. 2023 that his time as one of the Fab Five would soon be coming to an end.
“The love that I have received from you all over the last six years has been absolutely surreal,” Berk wrote on Instagram. “You have tuned in and been dedicated fans and together we were able to share the healing powers of design. I learned from you all about kindness, love and acceptance and that has changed my life for the better. The way you have embraced me and accepted me for who I am is something that l will truly carry with me for the rest of my life.”
Berk later explained in a Vanity Fair interview that he originally thought Queer Eye was going to end with Season 7, so he “started planning other things.” When Netflix unexpectedly renewed the show for four additional seasons, Berk’s fellow hosts decided to return, forcing the streamer to recast him.
“All the plans that I had made when I thought we weren’t coming back, I just wasn’t willing to change those,” Berk explained.
Brent joins current hosts Antoni Porowski (food and wine), Jonathan Van Ness (beauty), Karamo Brown (culture) and Tan France (fashion). Production on Season 9 begins this spring in Las Vegas.
