The Devil and the Daylong Brothers, set in the kudzu-choked backwaters of the American South, follows three brothers on a blood-soaked quest for revenge against their father, who sold their souls to the Devil before they were born.
Pic is produced by Nicholas Kirk (who also composed the film’s music and songs) of Whitestone Motion Pictures, Karl Horstmann of Triple Horse Studios and Todd Slater with Brandon Evans serving as an executive producer.
Larry Greenberg negotiated the deal on behalf of Quiver Distribution with Todd Slater of Brick Lane Entertainment on behalf of the filmmakers.
“I am thrilled to have partnered with Quiver Distribution and Brick Lane Entertainment on the distribution and sales for our film, as they have both embraced the unique voice of the picture,” said McCormick. “This Southern Gothic monstrosity is a labor of love birthed from dozens of wildly talented artists and I can guarantee one thing… ya ain’t seen nothin’ like it.”
Rainey Qualley said: “Being a part of The Devil and the Daylong Brothers has been one of my favorite experiences as an actor. Brandon and Nick are so incredibly talented, with a specific vision, and were a pleasure to work with. I am so thrilled this movie is finally coming out!”
Added Keith Carradine: “Nicholas Kirk came to me with something I’d never seen: a southern gothic musical. The concept alone sparked my interest, and the music and the script sealed my decision to join this extraordinary ensemble. These young actors’ performances; their soaring vocals; the revelation of joining this genre with the storytelling power of song…There’s a kind of genius to conceive of making this movie. I can’t wait for the audience to come!”
