R&B stars Monica, Musiq Soulchild heading to Rochester
Two prominent R&B names are headed to Rochester. Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Monica will join 13-time Grammy-nominated artist Musiq Soulchild at the Rochester Auditorium Theatre May 17.
Monica, hailing from Georgia, gained prominence with her 90s smash hit "The Boy is Mine," a collaboration with fellow R&B artist Brandy. This chart-topper dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 consecutive weeks.
Their collaboration clinched a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and achieved multi-platinum sales. Based on Billboard chart success, it stands among the Top 20 most successful American singles in history.
Hailing from Philadelphia, Musiq Soulchild signed with Def Soul Records in 1998. Since then, he has released nine studio albums featuring hit singles like "Just Friends," "Love" and "Halfcrazy."
The doors open at 7 pm for the show, which begins at 8 pm.
Tickets are available via www.RBTL.org or at the Auditorium Theatre box office.
