Rachel Bilson Admits She 'Feels Weird' Talking to Other Parents About This Trait of Daughter Briar Rose, 9
"I almost feel weird talking about it with other parents," Bilson admits
Rachel Bilson's daughter isn't like most other kids.
On a Monday, Aug. 26, episode of her podcast Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson & Olivia Allen, the Hart of Dixie alum, 43, shared that her daughter Briar Rose, 9, whom she shares with ex Hayden Christensen, doesn't throw fits like many other children.
"Bry's definitely a different kid than I was," Bilson said on the podcast. "Like, 100%."
"I almost feel weird talking about it with other parents because she doesn't throw fits," she continued. "It's just...it's not how she is. So if there's ever a time where she's off or gets, kind of upset about something, it totally disregulates [sic] me."

Asked why she feels weird talking about it, Bilson admitted it almost feels like bragging. "I just mean it sounds like, 'Oh my kid doesn't throw fits,' you know, but I'm like, no. It's actually the truth."
"But she really is that way and she's so kind and it's just her inner being. But I find myself if there's the littlest of, like, 'Oh, but I really wanted to do that,' it just throws me. Like yesterday, and I got so grumpy."
Bilson said she "felt so bad" after a recent run to Target where her daughter asked her if she was okay.
"I found her being like, 'Mom, are you happy doing this? Because you normally love Target.' She's like, 'You normally love this and you don't seem happy,' " Bilson recalled.
The actress said she was tired and a little grumpy because it had been a long day. "And I just told her, I was like, 'Oh honey, no. I love this. I love doing this with you. I'm just tired,' " Bilson shared.
Earlier this month, Bilson spoke with PEOPLE at the launch party for the new The O.C. x 21Seeds “Serving Summer” campaign and opened up about co-parenting her daughter with Christensen, 43.
"Everything's good. Everything's in a really good place," Bilson shared. "She is so beautifully flourishing and has the support completely surrounding her from every side."
Elsewhere in the interview, Bilson shared that while she's looking forward to Briar's 10th birthday this fall, her daughter isn't so sure she wants to grow up.
"Oh, my God, it's crazy. She does not want to get old," the actress said of Briar. "She likes being young. She's not one of those kids that just wants to speed it up and have a car and all that."
