Who Are the 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Guest Stars?
Actor Parker Young is joining the team for 9-1-1: Lone Star’s fifth and final season. Young, who starred on Enlisted, will play a recurring role on the final season as Ranger Sam Campbell, TV Insider reports.
Ranger Campbell is set to make his debut in the Season 5 premiere episode on September 23, as he partners with Carlos (Rafael Silva). TV Insider describes the character as “a straightforward, acerbic, seen-it-all Texas Ranger who thinks Ranger rookie Carlos may not be ready for all the job requires, especially in a new case involving a series of armored truck heists.”
Executive producer and co-showrunner Rashad Raisani shared why Parker is the perfect actor for the role. “Sam Campbell is one of our major new guest stars in Season 5. He’s a seasoned Texas Ranger who starts out as Carlos’s rival, but they quickly form a brilliant partnership that takes them to some very dark places,” Raisani told TV Insider.
He continued, “Since the day we conceived the role, I’ve always known I wanted Parker for it. Not only is he an action hero, he’s funny, warm, and whip-smart. He’s an absolute star and as you’ll see he brings his A-game to this arc.”
Carlos is determined to solve his father’s murder this season. Silva told TV Insider, “I think that Carlos is not the same since his father’s murder and will do whatever it takes to get an answer, some answer, any sort of answer, and he will take the path necessary to [do so]. He’s not going to stop until he gets an answer.”
Raisani also teased the “chemistry” that fans can expect with this pairing, telling TVLine, “When these two guys team up, there’s a very special chemistry. They complement each other on cases and they’re going to become great friends. They’re going to go to some very interesting places as a partnership.”
He added, “They are great together, and the stories they tell are some of the most explosive and dynamic that we’ve done.”

Is a spinoff a possibility? “I have been desperately pushing for that,” Raisani said. “I think that this season is going to be a proof of concept.”
In a 9-1-1: Lone Star Reddit discussion, there was plenty of buzz surrounding Parker joining the cast and whether a spinoff could be on the horizon. “Praying for Tarlos [T.K. and Carlos] spinoff,” one fan wrote.
Another remarked, “While I am gung-ho for a Tarlos spin off, I am wondering how the story would be, and how many seasons it would go for? Also as much as I am sad about a 911 LS ending I wouldn’t mind another spin off of the 911 set in Las Vegas as long as they include Tarlos as part of the main cast.”
One fan said they’re happy with Carlos having more screen time. “I’ve liked Parker Young in other things so I’m not mad at the casting but I’m not sure how I feel about the storyline. It does sound like we’re getting a decent amount of Carlos screen time this season which I’m not mad about,” they noted.
