In between “Strong Enough” and “Step Into Your Power,” LaMontagne reached Adult Alternative Airplay three times, paced by the No. 21-peaking “Roll Me Mama, Roll Me” in 2021. His Adult Alternative Airplay history dates to 2005, thanks to the No. 5 hit “Trouble.”
Concurrently, “Step Into Your Power” breaks into the top 30 of the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, lifting 33-29 via 1.2 million audience impressions, up 10%, in the week ending Aug. 8, according to Luminate. It’s LaMontagne’s first trip to the region dating to the list’s 2009 inception, surpassing the No. 32 peak of “Strong Enough” in 2020.
“Step Into Your Power” is the lead single from Long Way Home, LaMontagne’s ninth studio set (due Aug. 16) and first since 2020’s Monovision, which peaked at No. 4 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart that July. He boasts three No. 1s on the tally, most recently with 2016’s Ouroboros.
On the all-genre Billboard 200, Lamontagne has notched three top 10s, all of which have hit No. 3: Supernova (2014), God Willin’ & The Creek Don’t Rise, with the Pariah Dogs (2010), and Gossip in the Grain (2008).
All Billboard charts dated Aug. 17 will update on Billboard.com on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
