Sunny Hostin might have been missing from The View on Monday, July 29th, but there’s nothing to worry about. Of course, viewers notice the absence right away, and moderator Whoopi Goldberg addressed Hostin’s absence at the outset of the show. But where is Sunny Hostin and why was she missing from The View?

Where Is Sunny Hostin on The View & Why Is She Missing?
“First of all, do not get freaked out,” Goldberg quickly reassured people. “Sonny is not here today, but she appears later in the show because we were able to tape some things with her. So, you’ll see her in the show, but she’s not here at the show, right?”
Just as Goldberg promised, Hostin appeared on a pre-taped segment later in the show featuring Unstable costars Rob Low and John Owen Lowe. She, however, was not on hand for the rest of the show, and Goldberg did not give any details regarding Hostin’s absence or any timetable for a possible return at any other point.

Social media, however, came to the rescue with explanations. And not just any social media, the show’s official social media, with The View later clarifying on X (formerly Twitter) that Hostin was out with an illness. There were no details about the nature of the illness, other than it was not COVID.
Hostin officially joined The View in Season 20, back in 2016. Before that, she was a host and legal analyst at CNN as well as a fill-in co-anchor for ABC News’ World News Now and America This Morning.

No details about when Hostin could return to the show have been provided. Here’s hoping it’s nothing serious and we can see her back as soon as this week.
