Rouge hues have taken off this year after scarlet shades took the runways of Valentino, Carolina Herrera and Emilia Wickstead by storm during the fall 2023 season. Stars including Selena Gomez, Florence Pugh and Kylie Jenner have brought the trend into 2024, incorporating red at events such as the Golden Globes and Paris Couture Week.

At the 2024 Emmy Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles, the fiery fad was embraced by actresses like Anna Sawai, Gillian Jacobs and Sofia Vergara. Below, see the best red looks at the ceremony.
Anna Sawai
Sawai from “Shōgun” selected a strapless scarlet gown by Vera Wang, which featured a sweetheart neckline and a tiered skirt. Diamond-encrusted Cartier jewelry and Jimmy Choo heels completed her glamorous ensemble. Sawai was styled by Karla Welch, who also counts Olivia Wilde and Kristen Wiig as clients.
Janelle James
Janelle James, known for her role in “Abbott Elementary,” sported a ruffled one-shoulder gown by Marchesa. She accessorized with black Jimmy Choo sandals.
Sofia Vergara
“Griselda” star Vergara donned a sultry strapless gown by Dolce & Gabbana, accessorizing with earrings and rings by Lorraine Schwartz.
Nava Mau
Nava Mau of “Baby Reindeer” wore a custom Gigi Goode gown featuring a plunging neckline, a ruffled collar and a sultry thigh-high slit. A pair of crystallized peep-toe mules by Paris Texas topped off her look.
Gillian Jacobs
Jacobs from “The Bear” wore a strapless gown by Roland Mouret, which included a structured button-up corset.
The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Eugene and Dan Levy, celebrates TV’s best with FX’s “Shōgun” and “The Bear” leading nominations. Jelly Roll is set to perform his song “I Am Not Okay” during the show’s In Memoriam tribute.
