Red Rally set to bring out Chiefs supporters in St. Joseph
Jul. 26—On Saturday, Civic Center Park in Downtown St. Joseph will be a sea of red and gold as the annual Red Rally welcomes the Kansas City Chiefs to training camp.
From 1 to 6 p.m. on July 27, there will be festivities galore outside City Hall, including entertainment, multiple food and drink vendors, inflatables for kids and more.
Incoming Central High School senior Hailey Hatley will be the first entertainer of the celebration. Hatley is a country music artist and she said it means so much to her to be able to perform at the event.
"Performing at Red Rally is just, I don't know, it's really exciting for me," Hatley said. "I didn't ever think that I'd be here. Like, when you're little, you always want to be famous and like 'I wanna be a singer when I grow up or I wanna be an actor' and now my job is actually singing. And so doing something this big feels really surreal and exciting."
"Sparks Fly — The Taylor Swift Experience," a Taylor Swift-tribute show, will begin at 4:30 p.m.
There also will be appearances from the Rumble Drumline, Shawn Barber, KC Wolf and Blane Howard.
For $10, cash only, children can receive an All-You-Can-Bounce wristband for all of the inflatables at the rally.
There also will be a cash only beer tent at the event.
Plus, don't miss News-Press NOW's Jenna Wilson and Kyle Schmidt live at Red Rally.
Residents do need to be aware there will be a few streets closed on the day of the rally, including 12th Street between Jules and Francis along with Francis from 10th to 12th streets. Walter T. Welsh Avenue will also be closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
