REO Speedwagon announces Mayo Civic Center show

Jul. 29—ROCHESTER — The classic rock band REO Speedwagon will perform at the Mayo Civic Center at 7 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2024.

REO Speedwagon, known for hits including "Keep on Loving You," "Time for Me to Fly" and "Take it on the Run," is credited for influencing the rock movement in the Midwest, according to a Mayo Civic Center press release announcing the concert. The band, fronted by vocalist Kevin Cronin since 1972, was formed in 1967.

Their landmark album, Hi Infidelity, was in the No. 1 spot for 15 weeks after it was released in 1980. It surpassed sales of 10 million units in the United States, according to the release. The band has continued topping the charts with nine albums as certified platinum or higher from 1977 to 1989.

While performing songs such as "Ridin' The Storm Out," "Can't Fight This Feeling" and "Roll With The Changes," the band includes Cronin, Bruce Hall, Dave Amato, Bryan Hitt and Derek Hilland.

Tickets will be available online through Ticketmaster starting on Friday, Aug. 2. The Civic Center box office also sells tickets at 30 Civic Center Drive SE from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Friday.
