Report: Charlotte Flair, Liv Morgan Cast In New Movie
Two WWE stars are set to be in a new movie about wrestling.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan have been cast in a wrestling-based movie that will film in Louisville, Kentucky in June.
Per Sapp, the film stars Emily Bett Rickards as Mildred Burke, and it is based on the book “Queen of the Ring” by Jeff Leen, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author. Aime Schoof and Isen Robbins are attached as the producers, while the film is written and directed by Ash Avildsen.
Sapp wrote that Flair is set to play June Byers, and Morgan will play Clara Mortensen. Josh Lucas (Billy Wolfe) and Marie Avgeropoulous (Babe Gordon) have also been cast in the film. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently said on his podcast that he will be working on the film behind the scenes.
Flair has some experience in the acting world. She was in Psych: The Movie, and she appeared in Punky Brewster. Morgan had a brief appearance in the second season of the USA Network/SYFY series Chucky. She has also appeared on Total Divas and Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Morgan will also in the upcoming film The Kill Room.
Burke was a trailblazer in the wrestling world, and she played a major part in the growth of women’s wrestling. She held the NWA World Women’s Championship, and it was renamed after her. Burke was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016.
Flair is currently taking a few ways away from WWE, while Morgan suffered an injury on the May 12 episode of WWE SmackDown.
