RHOC’s Gina Kirschenheiter and Travis Mullen Relationship Timeline
For the last few seasons, Gina Kirschenheiter has been rebuilding her life. In 2019, Gina divorced her husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, after she found out that he had been having a months-long affair. In June of that same year, Gina was forced to file a restraining order against Matt after she accused him of domestic violence. At the time of filing, the mother of three claimed that Matt had attacked her after a night out. The father of three was later charged with two felony counts of domestic violence but pleaded not guilty.
Matt was sentenced to 180 days in prison, which he avoided by completing a state batterer’s program. Somehow, Gina found the courage to move on with her life and even forgive Matt. Both currently co-parent their children and seem to get along. Thankfully, during this time, Gina also met a new man, Travis Mullen. The recently divorced Travis showed Gina what a healthy relationship could look like, giving hope to the blonde.
Travis and Gina meet for the first time
In 2019, Gina revealed via social media that she had finally found a decent man. She posted a photo of them laughing, writing, “Always find a reason to laugh. It may not add years to your life but will surely add life to your year.” She gushed while talking to Us Weekly, “He’s a great person. He’s a really good guy, really sweet, really kind and it’s nothing like I’ve ever really experienced before. I’m just really enjoying being with him, and he’s pretty rad, so we’ll see what happens.”
Travis seemed to fall for Gina’s loose tracks, so fans knew he was a keeper. The duo was originally set up through a mutual friend. According to Gina, neither expected to like one another, but somehow, it just worked.
Gina and Travis move in
In 2020, after only six months of dating, the couple decided to become the modern-day Brady Bunch and move in together. Between six children, the couple blended their families well and seemed to be living a picture-perfect life, even in a small condo. At the time, she told People that the move was “kind of major.” Gain noted, “I know it’s nuts, but we’ve been together half a year. And when I think about that, I’m like, ‘That’s not a long time.’ But I honestly feel like I’ve known him forever. It seems so much longer.”
Gina stated that she was more than content living an independent life, sharing, “It’s the weirdest thing. I’m not the type of girl who has to be with a guy or in a relationship.” The mother of three revealed, ‘Even throughout drama with my ex, I was perfectly fine on my own and doing my own thing. But from the moment I started talking to Travis, I knew I had very sharp feelings for him.” When the worldwide pandemic hit, both were even quarantined together.
One year together
After surviving COVID-19, the couple had reason to celebrate. In August 2020, Gina posted a cute shoutout to her man as she acknowledged their one-year anniversary. After posting a collage of photos, the mother of three wrote, “It’s been an amazing year with an amazing man! 2020 may go down as one of the worst years for many, but not for me. @travis.mullen.85 I love you, babe and I love our life together.”
Gina’s thoughts on marriage
Throughout their relationship, Gina has been pretty clear that she has no intention of running down the aisle. She told The Daily Dish, “If I get married, that’s great. But like, if we never get married, I’m fine with that too, you know? To me, I think I just look at marriage in general differently. And I think it’s much more important to have a happy, high functioning, solid relationship, rather than, you know, a certificate or whatever.”
But during Season 16, Travis shared with Terry Dubrow that he had bigger plans, telling the plastic surgeon he could see himself marrying Gina in “one to three years.”
Gina and Travis celebrate 4 years of dating
In August 2023, the couple posted photos of their special date night. Gina revealed that they were still going strong and hit their four-year mark. The Long Island native wrote, “Thank you for dealing with my sass and always keeping me laughing.” The couple looked happier than ever!
Trouble in paradise
However, as we approach the couple’s five-year anniversary, it doesn’t seem like all is okay. Season 18 shows Gina moving out of their shared condo, claiming the kids need more space. In the premiere episode, Gina shared via her confessional that she was at her wits’ end with Travis’ baggage, aka the ex-wife. Gina hinted at outside factors, noting that the “hardest part of her relationship is not the relationship.” Travis’s ex-wife is causing a lot of turmoil as Gina revealed that she had decided to move out until his divorce was finalized.
Travis and his ex are bifurcated, which is when a judge is asked to resolve specific issues in a separate hearing rather than waiting to resolve these issues after the entire divorce process ends. Gina told the cameras, “Honestly, we need to live separately and see where the chips land.” Yikes, I hope these two lovebirds can work it out.
