Roadside Attractions Hires Jennifer Berman as Senior Veep of Acquisitions

Roadside Attractions has tapped former Miramax exec Jennifer Berman as senior VP of acquisitions, co-productions and development in charge of finding and developing feature films as finished projects, as well as at script stage.
“Jennifer has outstanding credits as both an executive and producer and will be a valuable asset to Roadside, as well as to our partners at Lionsgate and the many producers who entrust us with their films,” Roadside co-prexies Howard Cohen and Eric d’Arbeloff said in a joint statement.
“With Roadside’s successful track record over the past decade in finished-film acquisitions, together we can provide a valuable perspective on the U.S. market on films at an earlier stage,” the pair added.
Berman started at Miramax in 1994. During her 11-year tenure there, she worked on such films as “Shall We Dance,” “Proof” and the Oscar picture winning “Chicago.” Berman moved to L.A. in 2004, at which time she produced the first three seasons of Miramax and Bravo’s reality TV show “Project Runway.” She later served in exec roles at De Line Pictures and Mandalay Vision.
Roadside released last year J.C. Chandor’s one-man-show starring Robert Redford, “All Is Lost,” which grossed $6.3 million at the domestic box office. The distrib will release the Phillip Seymour Hoffman thriller “A Most Wanted Man” later this year; it also acquired rights to “The Skeleton Twins” at Sundance.
