Rockin the River returns to Wilkes-Barre
WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A summertime favorite returned to Luzerne County Friday night for another year.
Rockin’ the River at River Common in Wilkes-Barre has become one of the county’s most popular summer events.
The free concert series draws in thousands of people along the Susquehanna River.
Friday night a U-2 tribute band “The Unforgettable Fire” took to the stage.
The concert series is made possible by sponsors and community partnerships.
Sports, Entertainment, and Film Commission launched in Poconos
“I think it’s fantastic I think it brings everybody from all different walks of life to come to the community to come to Wilkes-Barre who wouldn’t have come down here before and it brings awareness to the area of all the amazing work that they are doing to improve it and bring new people in,” explained Eileen Rosen from the Susquehanna Brewing Company.
Rockin’ the River is held every Friday in July.
Next week an evening with the Eagles takes the stage.
