CHIPPEWA TWP. ― Back for a ninth year, the Highland VFW Musicfest takes place Aug. 10, bringing a variety of bands to a tree-lined enclave of Chippewa Township.
Doors open at 2 p.m. and the live music begins at 3 p.m. with Kevin and Jesse from the rock band Dying Breed.
At 4 p.m., '90s grunge-influenced Wicked Season takes the stage, followed by 16-year-old singer Kennadi Flenner at 5 p.m.
Then at 6 p.m., it's rocking newcomers The Figz from Ohio, followed by East Palestine singer Ben Flint, the only act to have performed at all previous Highland VFW Musicfests.
At 8 p.m., Beaver County rockers Steel Reserve will fire up the crowd for this year's headliners, the classic-rock-leaning The Project Band.
There will be food and drink specials, raffle baskets and 50/50 drawings.
Event T-shirts will be sold, with all proceeds from the event supporting the Highland VFW (Post 5945.)
"As usual, I have kept the admission price at $5," event organizer David Flenner said. "I dare anyone to see this many bands and enjoy this kind of fun for $5."
No coolers or outside food is permitted, nor are pets.
The Highland VFW is at 376 Park Road, with a Beaver Falls GPS address.
