The Royals season 4 teaser toasts and tosses the crown as only it can
Family dinner with the king and queen is about as dramatic as you might expect, at least on The Royals.
In this teaser from season 4 — which returns March 11 on E! — Queen Helena (Elizabeth Hurley) and King Robert (Max Brown) bicker until Helena tosses her wine across the table and Prince Liam (William Moseley) addresses his viewing public.
“How did we get here, you ask. Good question,” he says before a series of soapy scenes flash before our eyes: Liam and Cyrus (Jake Maskall) clinking glasses, clearly in cahoots (and neither of them shot, as was implied by the final seconds of season 3!); Eleanor (Alexandra Park) and Jasper (Tom Austen) looking cozy once again; Helena pushing Robert so he drops his crown — oops!
You’ll also note that Wilhelmina (Genevieve Gaunt) has a seat at that dinner party. When last we saw her, she still was quietly crushing on Liam while Robert revealed his desire to court her after he nastily dumped former flame Kathryn (Christina Wolfe). So, cheers, indeed!
The series recently faced some behind-the-scenes drama with the firing of showrunner and creator Mark Schwahn following a monthlong investigation into allegations of harassment. “We have concluded our investigation and Mark will not be returning to The Royals,” Lionsgate TV, the studio that produces the series, said in a statement. “The fourth season of the show has already completed production and will air as scheduled on E! in the spring.”
The Royals season 4 premieres Sunday, March 11 on E!.
