Rudimental Claims U.K. Albums Chart Crown, Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ Reigns Again On Singles Chart
London drum & bass group Rudimental followed their two U.K. No. 1 singles yesterday by landing the top spot with their debut album “Home” (Asylum/Warner Music). On the singles chart, “Get Lucky” (Columbia/Sony Music Entertainment) featuring Pharrell Williams started a second week at No. 1, becoming their bestselling U.K. hit as its cumulative sales rose to 363,000 downloads in 16 days.
Rudimental had topped the singles list immediately before Daft Punk with “Waiting All Night” (Asylum/Warner Music) featuring Ella Eyre, and last year with “Feel The Love” featuring John Newman. “Waiting All Night” held at No. 2 on the new survey with a healthy 81,000 new sales while “Feel The Love” rebounded 64-30, in the week that they hit the album summit.

Michael Bublé’s “To Be Loved” (Reprise/Warner Music), which topped the album bestsellers for the last two weeks, fell to No. 2 as Pink’s “The Truth About Love” (RCA/Sony) climbed 4-3 and Emeli Sandé’s “Our Version Of Events” (Virgin EMI/Universal) rose 5-4.
It was also a week to remember for British singer-songwriter Passenger, aka Brighton-based Mike Rosenborg, formerly the frontman of the group of that name. He has continued to use Passenger as his recording identity and this week sees his Nettwerk single “Let Her Go” rise 11-4 and album “All The Little Lights” race 25-6.
Emerging female talent Bo Bruce, who was runner-up on last year’s debut series of BBC1’s “The Voice” talent series, entered the album chart at No. 10 with her first set “Before I Sleep” (Mercury/Universal). There were also top 20 starts for reformed boy band Blue at No. 13 with “Roulette” (Blueworld), Seasick Steve with “Hubcap Music” (Fiction/Universal) at No. 14 and Deep Purple at No. 19 with “Now What” (Ear Music). “Now That’s What I Call Music! 84” (EMI TV/UMTV/Universal) tops the compilation chart for a sixth week.
The Daft Punk single sold 163,000 copies last week alone, just over double Rudimental’s tally at No. 2, and has now outsold their 2000 anthem “One More Time” in the U.K., according to Official Charts Company data. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Can’t Hold Us” (Macklemore), featuring Ray Dalton, climbed for the seventh week running, 6-3; David Guetta’s “Play Hard” (Parlophone/EMI), featuring Ne-Yo and Akon, rose 21-6, and Disclosure landed a No. 10 debut with “You & Me” (PMR), featuring Eliza Doolittle.
