Rumer Willis Confirms Split from Boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas: 'I am Single Momming It and Co-Parenting'

Rumer Willis and Derek Richard Thomas have split.

On Thursday, Aug. 22, Willis, 36, revealed she was no longer with her boyfriend Thomas as she answered fans' questions in an "Ask Me Anything (AMA) Uncensored" shared on her Instagram Stories.

"Are you and Derek still a couple?" one social media user asked, to which Willis replied, "Nope I am single momming it and co-parenting."

"I'm so grateful for Lou," the actress added of their 16-month-old daughter Louetta Isley Thomas Willis, whom they welcomed on April 18, 2023.

"She is the best thing in my life and I am forever grateful I was able to have the time in that relationship for her to come into my life," Willis concluded.

It's not known exactly when Willis — who is the daughter of Bruce Willis, 69, and Demi Moore, 61 — and Thomas first began dating, but it's thought they've been in a relationship since 2022. In December of that year, the former couple confirmed they were expecting their first baby together.

On Aug. 16, 2022, while celebrating Willis' 34th birthday on Instagram, Thomas suggested they hadn't been together long at that point.

"In the short time we’ve been together you have filled my life with joy and peace. Everything is just so easy with you. We sing, we dance, we play and most of all we laugh. Thank you for being you ?? you’re a magical human I’m so glad you came into my life :-)," Thomas wrote alongside a photo of them at the Rolling Stones BST Hyde Park concert in London.

While celebrating Father's Day on June 16, Thomas opened up about his love for Willis and Louetta in an Instagram caption accompanying a montage clip featuring sweet memories with their baby girl set to Frank Sinatra's "Young at Heart."

“I love you, Louetta. Thank you for changing my life and transforming me into a better person. Being your father is the greatest joy of my life. It’s an honor to be your guide as you teach me how to live. Thank you you for existing and thank you to your mother @rumerwillis for being my loving partner on this journey of parenthood. I love you both," the musician wrote.

“Derek, Lou is so lucky to have a papa that loves her so much. I am so grateful she has a dad that encourages and helps to cultivate her sense of wonder and play and teaches her it’s okay to get dirty and run barefoot in the grass. Happy Fathers Day. Love your girls," a message shared in Thomas' caption from "Rue and Lou" also read.

Willis has spoken openly about parenthood, telling PEOPLE in late March that "it was never a question" for her as to whether she wanted kids.

"I always knew," she added, calling motherhood her "favorite thing ever" and saying welcoming little Lou "was one of the most validating experiences of my life."
