RuPaul Keeps With Tradition, Wears Spiked Christian Louboutin Heeled Boots to 2024 Emmy Awards

Even when RuPaul Charles isn’t in drag, he prefers a little additional height on his 6’ 4” frame. The drag star and noted television host hit the red carpet of the Emmy Awards on Sunday night wearing an embellished black suit with studded black boots featuring a cuban heel.
RuPaul, who is attending the awards show as a result of the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” nomination, selected a black suit for the event. Though the businessman went without a belt, and left the top few buttons of his shirt unbuttoned, he added sparkle to the single button jacket with rows of shimmering crystals. The look was accented with a few largerings, a cowboy hat and the star’s almost customary shades.
For shoes, RuPaul chose a pair of Christian Louboutin boots. The company’s Rosalio ST Spikes style, the boot features mini studs rimming its base and cuban heel. The black leather shoe also features a pull tab and side zip closure.
While tall, RuPaul often has worn heeled styles out of drag. At the Met Gala in 2019, he wore a pair of chunky platform boots with a sequined double breasted suit. He’s also been spotted in quite a number of sleek styles from Syro as well as the occasional Rick Owens heel. His considerable shoe closet has been the subject of attention in Architectural Digest as well as social media.
The boots sport Christian Louboutin’s signature red soles. Louboutin initially began painting the bottoms of his styles red after being inspired by a woman’s nail polish. It has gone on to become a sign of luxury and sophistication.
The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Dan and Eugene Levy, takes place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The award show is held to celebrate the best of television, awarding major players in the industry for their talents. Some popular shows nominated for awards this year include “Fellow Travelers,” “Fargo,” “Baby Reindeer,” “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans,” “Griselda” and “True Detective: Night Country.”
