Just days earlier, the S’Able Labs cofounder selected a plunging Elie Saab couture dress, pulled from the Lebanese designer’s archives, at Fashion Trust Arabia 2024 in Marrakech. Hosted by Angela Bassett and Ahmed Helmy, the event highlights the next generation of fashion talent from the MENA region.
Yasmin Mansour was named the 2024 FTA Prize ready-to-wear winner. Other awards included Nadine Mosallam for eveningwear and Reem Hamed for accessories. Sylwia Nazzal received the Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award.
The FTA 2024 jury featured Amina Muaddi, Giambattista Valli, Ib Kamara, Yoon Ahn and many more. The advisory board included Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Law Roach, Nina Garcia, Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, Peter Dundas and Susie Lau, among others.
In April, Sabrina joined her husband at the premiere of her husband’s animated miniseries “Knuckles,” based on the character from the “Sonic the Hedgehog” video games. She modeled a knit dress from Fendi’s spring 2024 collection. Her coral frock featured a backless silhouette and an asymmetrical neckline. Sabrina completed her look with white Christian Louboutin pumps and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
Speaking at Fairchild Media Group’s annual Women in Power event in September, Sabrina explained how her own personal skincare journey informed the launch of her brand S’Able Labs.
“The needs of melanin-rich skin are unfortunately seen as niche. It’s drier because it lacks ceramides, it’s more sensitive, being more prone to inflammation. What you get is skin care that’s actually better for a greater part of the population,” she said. “I tried to figure out why every dermatologist just threw tretinoin at my face, and wasn’t addressing hyperpigmentation the way I think it needs to be.”
