Salman Khan has played several iconic roles throughout his career. However, his role as Prem in movies helmed by Sooraj Barjatya remains a fan favorite. After introducing a new version of Prem in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Barjatya had planned another film with the Bollywood star.

The title of the new movie was finalized as Prem Ki Shaadi, but things did not go as planned. Salman Khan was allegedly not willing to work in the romantic space. Now, a source says that Kartik Aaryan is being considered to play the lead in the movie.

Kartik Aaryan to become the next generation’s Prem after Salman Khan?

The latest report by Pinkvilla has revealed Kartik Aaryan is in talks to play the lead role of Salman Khan’s Prem in Sooraj Barjatya’s next. The report claimed that the celebrated filmmaker is set to begin casting for his next venture. His next project, a drama, will allegedly feature a nuclear family. A source said, “Sooraj Barjatya is on the look-out for an actor who brings in a sense of innocence on the screen and feels that Kartik has it in him to be the new-age on-screen Prem. The things are in a very preliminary stage at this point of time.”

The source added Kartik Aaryan is interested in the movie and is waiting for the full script. “Kartik has heard the idea and is interested in doing the film. However, is waiting to hear the complete script before signing the dotted lines. There will be a clear picture on the casting of Sooraj Barjatya’s next by Mid-July, once the full-fledged narration takes place.”

For the unversed, Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya have collaborated on many projects. They include Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
