Now in its seventh year, the New Now Next Awards makes a big move this year from its previous date and home of April in L.A., to December in Miami, coinciding with the weekend of the city's popular Art Basel festival, the world's premier international art show for modern and contemporary art.

The show has attempted to differentiate itself from the crowded awards field as a prognosticator of “who and what will dominate pop culture in the year to come.” It's served with a wink and a nod to the LGBT community as tastemakers, but appealing to a much broader audience, honoring television, film, music, theater, social media, literature, fashion and art.
“The New Now Next Awards are a crystal ball for popular culture. They celebrate the now and introduce fans to what's on the horizon,” said Ryan Kroft, SVP of Programming Specials and Events for MTV and Logo TV. “The awards honor the artists and creators whose films, shows, music, and even social impact helped define last year and will shape the future. We are thrilled to celebrate their work.”
