Sam Smith Wins Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album

In the Lonely Hour by Sam Smith took home the Grammy for best pop vocal album Sunday night.
Smith, who also won best new artist, was up against Ghost Stories by Coldplay, Bangerz by Miley Cyrus, My Everything by Ariana Grande, Prism by Katy Perry and X by Ed Sheeran.
“Before I made this record, I did everything to try and get my music heard. I tried to lose weight and I was making awful music. It was only when I started to be myself that the music started to flow and the people started to listen,” said Smith as he accepted the prize.
The award was presented by Barry Gibb at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The 57th Annual Grammy Awards, hosted by LL Cool J for the fourth year in a row, are airing live on CBS.
