See St. Joseph: Animal and red kingdoms take over Downtown
Jul. 25—St. Joseph will get a first-hand look at both animal and red kingdoms this weekend with performances, rallies and luncheons. There's plenty to keep everyone busy in this week's edition of See St. Joseph.
This weekend, the Missouri Theater will be hosting some royalty with CAP's production of The Lion King Jr. Celebrate the circle of life in this timeless story of courage, friendship and destiny. Join the Creative Arts Productions in the African Savanna with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in this coming-of-age tale. There will be a limited-seating performance at 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, with public performances at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 27, and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28. Visit the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art on Saturday afternoon for a luncheon that will bring together community members and promote diversity and togetherness. The St. Joe Pride Luncheon will give residents a chance to share their stories and embrace the LGBTQ+ community. There will be live music, a fundraising auction and a dining experience provided by Cafe Belle Epoque. Doors will open at 10 a.m. July 27, and lunch will be served at 11 a.m. Tickets can be purchased on the event's website, www.saintjoepride.org.
To ensure the Chiefs feel right at home during training camp, Downtown St. Joseph will be seeing red at the Red Rally Kingdom Party this Saturday.
Get your red on and join the fun as we welcome the back-to-back Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs to Training Camp. There will be live music featuring Hailey Hatley, Blane Howard and even a Taylor Swift experience. Guests can expect inflatables, vendors, KC Wolf, Chiefs player ambassadors and much more. The party goes from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Civic Center Park Downtown.
