Selena Gomez Gets Wrapped Up In Amy Schumer IVF Drama with Fans

Comedian Amy Schumer is having a rough go at IVF treatment as she revealed to fans that she and husband Chris Fisher are trying for a second child. Schumer shared an emotional post, Thursday afternoon on Instagram, detailing to fans how the process has hade her feel and asking for anyone to share stories that may be helpful. However, fans didn't respond well, and aside from attacking each other they also lashed out at poor Selena Gomez for trying to offer some support.

Along with the message, the star shared a graphic photo of her midsection which was bruised from multiple hormone injections, as well showing her C-section scar from last year.

Schumer's Plea

"I’m a week into IVF and feeling really run down and emotional," Schumer wrote on Instagram.

She added, "If anyone went through it and if you have any advice or wouldn’t mind sharing your experience with me please do. My number is in my bio. We are freezing my eggs and figuring out what to do to give Gene a sibling."

Unfortunately, rather than support the comedian during her time of need, many of Schumer's fans took it upon themselves to lecture her on IVF treatment, while others defended the star and began attacking her critics.

Fans Take Sides

"so unnecessary with so many children to be adopted or surrogate .. have you had the experience of gestating and giving birth, why submit to it?" one person commented.

Another wrote, "adopt, we are not short on humans on this planet. siblings don’t need to be related."

Many of Schumer's fans lashed out at the uneducated comments, with responses like:

"because people always seem to think it's ok to tell people going through IVF that they should foster or adopt instead. When someone chooses IVF they do so for a reason, and isn't a choice they make lightly. It's insensitive to suggest those undergoing IVF adopt or foster. They already know the options that exist.... But it's shouldn't always be left up to infertility challenged people to foster or adopt simply because they can't have children naturally. When someone has chosen IVF, they don't need to hear alternatives because they've already made their choice on how to bring their child into the world."

Others weren't so nice, telling the critics to "bug off," "get lost," or one other person who asked, "how many adopted children do you have? Do you like strangers telling you how to make your major life choices? Don’t like IVF, don’t do it."

Others Offered Support

Even though there was a war being waged in the comments of Schumer's Instagram feed, others ignored the bickering and offered their support.

"IVF is a journey that tests every thing in your body, soul and mind- having endured this rotten experience my only advice is to focus on the end goal- stay strong - tough time’s don’t last- tough people do," one fan wrote.

Schumer's celebrity freinds got in ont he action too. Plus size model Tess Holiday wrote:

"I appreciate you as a mother, a woman, a public figure, your vulnerability is so powerful."

Selena Gomez Gets Heat

Selena Gomez, who is no stranger to openly discussing her medical issues, was another celebrity who offered support to Schumer during her trying time with IVF.

"I’m praying for you and chris. I’m sorry!" Selena wrote.

However, not even Selena could escape the sensitive fans, who thought Selena was referring to the IVF treatment when she said "I'm sorry" to Schumer and her husband.

The "Lose You To Love Me" singer late went back in the comments to clarify her initial statement.

"let me clear that up. I said I’m sorry she’s feeling that way. My mom went through the same thing. It’s hard on women’s heart."
