Selena Gomez Shuts Down the Emmys Red Carpet in Jewel-Trimmed Gown
Selena Gomez has arrived at the 2024 Emmys!
Gomez looked lovely in a form-fitting black gown that had a jewel-trimmed neckline.
It's a big night for her: Gomez is nominated tonight for best lead actress in a comedy for her performance as Mabel in Only Murders in the Building. She is just the fourth Latina actress to be nominated in the category's history, following Rita Moreno (in 1983), America Ferrera (in 2007 and 2008), and Jenna Ortega last year. On an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon earlier this week alongside her costars Martin Short and Steve Martin, Gomez jokingly practiced their "Emmy-losing faces":
Gomez is also nominated at the Emmys as an executive producer on Only Murders, for the third year in a row. Per Variety, that makes Gomez the most-nominated Latina producer in Emmys history. "These little nuggets of information keep me going," Gomez said. "They make me proud. I’ve always been proud of my last name, heritage, and culture, but I need to stop more and realize how great this is. If it’s true, I can’t wait to tell my dad."
Season four of Only Murders in the Building is currently airing, and Hulu has already renewed the hit whodunnit for a fifth season. It's a busy fall for Gomez, who is also starring in the musical drama Emilia Pérez. At Cannes, Gomez and her co-stars Zoe Salda?a, Gomez, Karla Sofía Gascón, and Adriana Paz were all awarded the best actress prize.
