'Selling Sunset' Season 8 will focus on Chelsea Lazkani's divorce. What to know

"Selling Sunset" is returning for Season 8 — less than a year after Season 7.

The trailer, released Aug. 13, shows the Oppenheim Group's agents dealing with changes in their personal lives and the real estate market.

Based on the trailer, Chelsea Lazkani’s divorce will take center stage this season. Lazkani filed for divorce from her husband Jeff Lazkani in March 2024. The former couple shares two children.

“I don’t want to do this,” she says to the camera, clearly emotional. “I can’t do this.”

The trailer makes it seem like her colleagues find out something before Lazkani does. “They say don’t shoot the messenger. She’s definitely gonna shoot me,” Bre Tiesi says. Tiesi and Lazkani have had a tense relationship ever since sour conversations about Lazkani's family life and her child with Nick Cannon.

Nicole Young also seems to be sitting on information, but doesn’t say what, or about whom: “I heard information that could really affect families, marriages.”

Elsewhere in the trailer, Mary Fitzgerald and Jason Oppenheim, her ex-boyfriend, have a tearful interaction over their dog, who didn't have much time left at the time of filming. They announced Niko, a chihuahua, died in March at 18 years old.

Chrishell Stause also makes fun of her ex Jason's dating habits in the trailer. He dated Mary-Lou Nurk, a model who was then 25, last season of "Selling Sunset." They split in 2023.

When does Season 8 of 'Selling Sunset' premiere?

The new batch of episodes will drop on Sept. 6 on Netflix.

Who stars in Season 8 of 'Selling Sunset'?

Netflix confirms the following cast members are returning: Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Emma Hernan, Amanza Smith, Chelsea Lazkani, Bre Tiesi and Nicole Young.

Alanna Whittaker Gold, a model and real estate agent, is joining the cast.

"Secret's out," she wrote on Instagram when the trailer dropped.

Tiesi, who appeared to waver about returning to the show after the Season 7 finale, is as fiery as ever. "Get that camera out of my face," she says.

Tiesi's reason for leaving had to do with how the Oppenheim Group divides up commissions. She said she was used to a “90/10” split, meaning she kept 90% of the commission, and returned 10% to the brokerage. Tiesi says Oppenheim asks for 20% to be returned.

“For me to walk away with this kind of split is a hard pill to swallow. It isn’t sitting well with me, knowing that I’m losing a lot more of my money than I would lose somewhere else,” she said in Season 7.

Based on the trailer, it's unclear whether this season will resolve that pain point for Tiesi. However, will definitely focus more about how the agents fare in what Oppenheim calls a slow real estate market.
