In its second season, “Severance” has blurred the lines between the Innies and Outies, proving there is no such thing as a “work-life balance.” Mark Scout (Adam Scott) has uncovered even more mysteries at Lumon Industries, while his relationship with coworker Helly (Britt Lower) has more than evolved…
As the logline teases, Season 2 sees Mark and his friends “learning the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.”
Tramell Tillman, John Turturro, Zach Cherry, Patricia Arquette, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, Christopher Walken, and Sarah Bock are the series regulars. The show is written, created, and executive produced by Dan Erickson, with actors Scott and Arquette also executive producing.
This isn’t the first real-life crossover with the good folks at Lumon: The fictional Dr. Ricken Lazlo Hale, played by Michael Chernus, and his book “The You You Are” is actually available for purchase.
The description for the self-help book reads, “In his quinquennial tome, Dr. Ricken Lazlo Hale, PhD guides You on a brave journey of self-learnedness. Fertile with mind-engorging insights, ‘The You You Are’ is an invitation to merge with your true ‘You,’ and expel from your essence the dead-eyed conventionalism that has defined your life since infancy. For the first time ever, Dr. Ricken’s luminous writings are available in digital format, only on Apple Books. Though librarians strongly urge reading his complete oeuvre, this ebook — featuring the inaugural eight chapters from ‘The You You Are’ — is sure to tickle both the completist and the layman.”
