Shakira, Shakira: Superstar to kick off new world tour in November at Acrisure Arena
Acrisure Arena will be shouting one name in early November: "Shakira, Shakira."
The Grammy Award winning singer, who surprised the crowd during Weekend 1 of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival as a special guest, will kick off the first leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour on Nov. 2 at the Palm Desert venue.
During her Coachella appearance at Argentine producer Bizarrap’s set on Friday night, the superstar announced her world tour and told the crowd it would kick off in the city, although she was off by a couple of miles. Shakira also posted a photo on her Instagram Stories showing her stopped off the side of I-10 to look at Acrisure Arena, which put a message on its huge roadside sign saying "Shakira Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour."

Diss tracks galore
The tour is in support of her new album, "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran," which, within 24 hours of its release, became the most streamed album of the year with over 10 billion, and was certified 7x platinum. The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Album and Latin Pop Album Charts, while “Puntería” with Cardi B holds the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard Latin Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay charts.
Working with Bizarrap, the Colombian superstar released “Bzrp Music Sessions Vol. 53,” a blistering smackdown of her ex-husband, Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué, that affirmed her status as a reigning she-wolf. She performed the song, along with "La Fuerte," during Coachella.
Among the 16 tracks, including a remix of her Bizarrap hit with superstar DJ/producer Tiesto, Shakira is joined by plenty of guests including Ozuna, Rauw Alejandro, Grupo Frontera, Karol G and Fuerza Regida.
Thematically, she’s eager to move on from the hurt of her marriage, a point she reiterated in a recent interview with The Sunday Times.
"For a long time I put my career on hold, to be next to Gerard, so he could play football. There was a lot of sacrifice for love,” Shakira, 47, said.
This is Shakira’s first tour since 2018.
