Shang-Chi 2 Confirmed by Simu Liu in Big Tease
There’s definitely going to be a sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, according to Simu Liu.
The actor, who stars as superhero Shang-Chi in the 2021 Marvel film, confirmed the existence of Shang-Chi 2 in a conversation on Threads.
One user wrote, "I feel like Marvel has abandoned the Shang-Chi fanbase. There has been no effort by the studio to get the sequel filming or even include the character in other Marvel films. Frustrating as hell."
In response, Liu said, "I proooomiss it’s happening.” We haven’t seen Liu in a Marvel film since his introduction in 2021, so fans have been eager for his return.
He didn’t even appear in animated Marvel series What If...?, despite season 2, episode 7 taking place around the acquisition of his power, the Ten Rings, by Hela.
Shang-Chi is sure to show his face in the next Avengers movie, however, given how Sorcerer Supreme Wong showed up at the end of his last film to recruit him.
That film will be at the end of phase six, with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which is set for a 1 May, 2026 release.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty recruited a new head writer some months back.
