Shannen Doherty Recorded Five Episodes of ‘Charmed’ Reboot Podcast Before Her Death
Shannen Doherty had recorded five episodes for the Charmed rewatch podcast The House of Halliwell before her death on July 13.
In the last episode of Doherty’s Let’s Be Clear — released on Monday, July 8, before her passing — the Charmed alum had announced alongside her friend and former Charmed costar Holly Marie Combs that she was joining The House of Halliwell hosted by Combs, Brian Krause and Drew Fuller. In the podcast, the former co-stars “have an authentic and genuine conversation about each successive episode — the demon du jour, over-arching themes, outfit choices, hair choices, man choices (lol), memories from set and their individual acting process for any given scene,” as described on the podcast’s website.

The rewatch podcast, first launched in 2022, had went on a hiatus last October. The podcast was then set to be rebooted with Doherty joining. Doherty revealed that she had previously declined to join 18 months before.
“You’re the reason. I’m glad you decided to join us after I asked you a year and a half ago. She takes a lot of courting,” Combs had joked with Doherty on Doherty’s Let’s Be Clear podcast.
After Doherty died on July 13 after her long battle with breast cancer, The House of Halliwell podcast paid tribute to the actress.
Krause gave an emotional introduction to an episode of the relaunched House of Halliwell podcast released on July 14. “I come to you this evening with a heavy heart after learning the news of Shannen Doherty’s passing just yesterday afternoon,” Krause said in the episode intro.
“I know all of us here at the House of Halliwell, iHeartmedia, social media, all over the world are shocked, devastated. Too young, too talented, too loving, too grateful, too early. Shannen will dearly be missed and we are so honored that she had come on with us, or, had us along with her on this new incantation of the House of Halliwell,” he continued.
Krause revealed that prior to Doherty’s death, they had recorded episodes of the podcast: “We were lucky enough to record four episodes in the last week or so, and Shannen was just so motivated and determined to help make this show a success and give all of you more insight into what it was in the making and the fun and the behind-the-scenes of Charmed.“
“When Shannen wanted to get something done, she got it done, and that’s something I learned a long time ago, watching her on set and work and be such a professional and so good at what she did,” Krause said, adding that she had a “lifelong, lasting impression” on him before getting chocked up.
“So perhaps I’ll leave you off with this: I know how grateful Shannen was, as I was lucky enough to travel with her to many different places and ComicCons and go backstage and hear from her the things that affected her emotionally,” Krause said. “It gave her so much, emotionally, and meeting the fans and hearing the stories and knowing how much it meant to all of you, it filled her greatly and I know that she believed in the House of Halliwell to be the little bit that she was able to give back.”
He shared he along with Combs and Fuller will continue the rewatch podcast to “honor” Doherty.
“We are going to continue on in her name, and kick freaking ass, because that’s what she would do. So from us at the House of Halliwell — we love you and we thank you and please keep Shannen in your prayers.”
In the first episode shared, Doherty joins Krause, Combs and Fuller to look back on the 1998 pilot episode of Charmed.
July 15, 11:10 a.m. This story has been updated to correct that it was five episodes recorded not four.
