Nannies are sorely in need of some good PR. Long a staple of the celebrity lifestyle, a caretaker for the kids while mom and dad are off living life in the spotlight have recently endured some bad press.
The latest: Sharon Osbourne mentioned to the ladies of The Talk this week that she had quite the experience with the four nannies she employed to take turns taking care of her three children.
“I’m telling you, they were the bane of my existence,” Osbourne said. “They were all wanting to be celebrities. They were all wanting money… I caught two of them in bed with Ozzy!"
Wait, what?!
Mrs. O’s hard-rocking husband has acknowledged addictions to drugs and alcohol, and indeed Ozzy was "out of his mind” during the nanny incidents, his wife said.
So how did Sharon handle the situation? “At the end of the day, I hired a manny called ‘Big Dave,’” she explained. “Never trust a nanny!"
Osbourne made her revelation while her co-hosts were discussing a post that actress Eva Amurri made Monday on her blog. In it, Amurri — who happens to be the daughter of actress Susan Sarandon — explained her husband, former soccer pro Kyle Martino, fired their nanny because the hired help texted him that she "would love to f*** his brains out” when she was out of town for work. The nanny claimed to have sent him a text that was purportedly supposed to go to a friend by accident, but Amurri believed it was intentional.

“Kyle said the way she was peeking out of the window in our bedroom made him realize, 'OK – that text was NOT a mistake,’” Amurri wrote. “(By the way if you are a woman I’m sure YOU figured that out two paragraphs ago.)"
After Amurri’s husband axed that nanny, the actress said she and Martino have been traveling for work with their infant daughter.
"Strangely, this bizarre Nanny experience brought us even closer (emotionally and geographically) than we would have been otherwise,” Amurri continued. “It’s had its (extremely) stressful moments, but it’s an adventure."
But things didn’t end so well for other celebs with nanny trouble.

Beloved couple Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s former nanny was blamed for the demise of their 10-year marriage last year, although Garner told Vanity Fair last month that wasn’t the case.
"We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny,” Garner told the magazine. “She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation. Bad judgment? Yes. It’s not great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from their lives."
Gwen Stefani’s ex-husband Gavin Rossdale reportedly also had an affair with their nanny when they announced the decision to end their 13-year marriage last August.
