Shows Delayed By The Vice Presidential Debate in October Including ‘Dancing With the Stars’ & More
The upcoming vice presidential debate between Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) and Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) has shaken up the fall premiere date schedule for several television shows, both scripted and unscripted.
The debate between the candidates will take place on Oct. 1 on CBS, and networks have since shifted schedules and programming to avoid certain shows competing with viewership in the same time slot come October.

'Dancing With The Stars' Pro Witney Carson Returning For Season 33
The premiere of season 2 of Fox’s anthology crime series Accused has been pushed to Tuesday, October 8 from its original slated release date of Oct. 1 by the network. The second season of the show will air at 8 p.m. Oct. 8 followed by Murder in a Small Town. The second episode of Murder in a Small Town has shifted air time on Oct. 1 so that it can air ahead of the debate at 8 p.m.
NBC moved the premiere of Season 2 of The Irrational to Tuesday, October 8 as it was originally supposed to debut Oct. 1. The Season 2 crime procedural will now premiere at 10 p.m. on October 8 after a two-hour slot of The Voice.

Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars, which recently cast pommel horse Olympic champion and icon Stephen Nedoroscik, will have a doubled-up episode the week of October 7 and 8 instead of the original target date of Oct. 1. The dance competition show will return to ABC on Sept. 17.
The shift in routine for Dancing With the Stars means that Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Press Your Luck will return with new episodes on Oct. 14.
The CW
So far, no changes yet from The CW. The network still plans to air the live debut of WWE NXT on Tuesday, October 1 from 8-10 p.m. PT/ET.
