On Thursday, Apple released the first full trailer for the series, which landed Emmy nominations in 2023 for Segel in the Best Comedy Actor category and costar Jessica Williams in the Best Comedy Supporting Actress race.
The second season of the show picks up right after the events of Season 1, where Jimmy (Segel), a therapist, attempts to pick up the pieces of his life after the death of his wife and gets into hot water when one of his patients (played by Heidi Gardner of “Saturday Night Live” fame) attempts to kill her husband. Season 2 continues that story in the background, while Jimmy continues to mourn his wife, whose death is explored in greater detail. Harrison Ford, Christa Miller, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley co-star. Goldstein, a two-time Emmy Award winner for “Ted Lasso,” plays a key guest role in the new batch of episodes.
“Shrinking” debuts Season 2 on October 16 with two episodes. The 12-episode second season will conclude on December 25.
