Singer Sean Kingston booked into Broward jail; new video with NBA YoungBoy dropped

In the past few days, reggae singer Sean Kingston released a new video of a song with NBA YoungBoy and has been booked into Broward County Main Jail on nine charges of fraud and theft plus a probation violation.

These two events aren’t unrelated.

Sunday, Kingston was booked into Broward County Main Jail under his government name, Kisean Anderson, after being extradited from California. The Broward Sheriff’s Office’s online jail records say Kingston’s bond is $100,000.

Arrest paperwork alleges Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, regularly bounced checks and scammed businesses and banks for furniture, jewelry and use of a Cadillac Escalade. Kingston was arrested in Fort Irwin, California, on May 23, while BSO arrested Turner the same day. She was released from jail after posting $160,000 bond on Tuesday.

Kingston, 34, was charged with the following:

Obtaining property over $50,000 by fraud; fraudulent use of another person’s identification without consent, over $50,000 (three counts); fraudulent use of another person’s identification without consent, over $5,000; grand theft between $20,000 and $100,000; fraudulent use of a check with insufficient funds over $150; grand theft over $100,000 (two counts); and a probation violation.

Kingston’s video of “Why Oh Why,” which dropped on WorldStar Hip Hop’s YouTube page Friday, includes news coverage footage of Kingston’s Southwest Ranches home being raided on May 23 by Broward Sheriff’s Office and Davie police SWAT teams.

Kington’s not the only one in the video with his movements restricted by criminal charges. NBA YoungBoy aka Kentrell Gaulden got federal drug and weapons charges in Louisiana, but sits in an Utah jail after being charged with 48 counts of prescription drug fraud, according to The Herald Journal out of Logan, Utah.
