Single Parents’ Taran Killam to Recur on ABC’s High Potential as Kaitlin Olson’s Ex
Taran Killam, who appears in the pilot episode of ABC’s Kaitlin Olsen-led High Potential drama, has been upped to “major recurring role” status, Deadline reports.
Based on the French series Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI), written by Drew Goddard (The Good Place) and starring It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Olson, High Potential follows Morgan, a single mom with an exceptional mind whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with the by-the-book, seasoned Detective Karadec (played by Graceland‘s Daniel Sunjata).

The High Potential series regular cast also includes Javicia Leslie (Batwoman) as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz (The Flight Attendant) as Lev “Oz” Ozdil, Amirah J (Shameless) as Ava, Matthew Lamb (Firebuds) as Morgan’s son Elliot, and Judy Reyes (Scrubs) as Selena.
Garrett Dillahunt (Raising Hope) meanwhile will recur as Lieutenant Melon, the head of the LAPD’s Robbery Division who would much rather be running Major Crimes.
Todd Harthan, who was named showrunner in June following the departure of original showrunner Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars, Party Down), executive-produces High Potential with Goddard, Sarah Esberg, Dan Etheridge and Thomas, while series lead Olson carries a producer credit.
