The post Slash Announces Summer 2024 Traveling Blues Festival with All-Star Lineup appeared first on Consequence.
Slash has announced the lineup and tour dates for a traveling blues festival dubbed S.E.R.P.E.N.T.
The trek will see the Guns N’ Roses guitarist sharing the bill with a rotating cast of modern blues and blues-adjacent icons such as Warren Haynes Band, Keb’ ‘Mo, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Robert Randolph, Samantha Fish, Eric Gales, ZZ Ward, Jackie Venson, and Larkin Poe.
The trek kicks off July 5th in Bonner, Montana, and runs through August 17th in Grand Prairie, Texas. In between, the tour hits cities including Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Toronto, Boston, New York, Atlanta, and Huntsville.
A Live Nation ticket pre-sale for select dates begins Wednesday (March 13th) at 10 a.m. local time using the code KEY. General ticket sales start Friday (March 15th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. Fans can also look for deals or get tickets to sold-out dates via StubHub, where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.
The announcement of S.E.R.P.E.N.T. comes on the heels of Slash announcing a new blues-centric album, Orgy of the Damned, which, like Slash’s previous solo albums, features numerous guest singers and musicians. On each date of the traveling fest, Slash will be performing numbers from the LP with his blues band, which is rounded out by bassist Johnny Griparic, keyboardist Teddy ‘ZigZag’ Andreadis, drummer Michael Jerome, and singer/guitarist Tash Neal.
In addition to being a celebration of the blues genre, S.E.R.P.E.N.T. (which stands for “Solidarity, Engagement, Restore, Peace, Equality N’ Tolerance”) also has a charitable angle, with a portion of each ticket and VIP package supporting the following charities chosen by Slash: The Equal Justice Initiative, Know Your Rights Camp, The Greenlining Institute, and War Child.
“The S.E.R.P.E.N.T. tour is a celebration of blues and rock ‘n’ roll music, and a celebration of unity and togetherness in these uncertain and divisive times,” said Slash via a press release. “S.E.R.P.E.N.T is a vehicle to help support and uplift people and communities suffering from the injustices of racism and equal rights violations, as well as to support children adversely affected by war and poverty across the world. So, we are contributing a portion of every ticket and VIP package sold from the tour to those ends. S.E.R.P.E.N.T. will also provide an environment where folks can get together for a day of great music and hang out and have a good time.”
