SNL Digital Short: Andy Samberg and Charli XCX Are ‘Itching to Do Some Snitching’ in Lonely Island Video
The Lonely Island’s latest collaborator is… Charli XCX.
The pop music sensation — who pulled double duty as host and musical guest of Saturday Night Live this weekend (how brat, right?) — starred opposite franchise vet Andy Samberg in a new digital short about husband-and-wife Karens.

The music video for “Here I Go” introduces Samberg as a man who gets off on calling the cops when his quiet, suburban life is even mildly disturbed. Take, for instance, when he sees a man in a hooded sweatshirt on his front lawn. Just as the cops are arriving, Samberg’s character admits in song, “I know you’re not supposed to do this anymore, but does it help to know that who I snitched on was white?” We then cut to a shot of Weekend Update anchor Colin Jost, who is revealed to be the man beneath the hood.
Soon after, the spotlight shifts to Charli XCX. She’s introduced as Samberg’s snitcher-in-crime who “lit-ter-rally dares you to park within two centimeters of my driveway, b-tch!”
SNL Season 50 Hosts & Musical Guests
“Here I Go” marks the second Digital Short by The Lonely Island to air as part of SNL’s milestone 50th season. Samberg and Akiva Schaffer previously returned with their first music video in six years — the viral sensation “Sushi Glory Hole” — on Oct. 5.
Blink and you’ll miss Schaffer’s cameo in “Here I Go,” in which he appears as a disapproving neighbor just before the video cuts to black:
Samberg was one of three former cast members to appear on SNL this weekend. In addition to Dana Carvey, who reprised President Joe Biden in the cold open and appeared as Al Pacino in a Wicked audition sketch, Kyle Mooney returned to Studio 8H — first as part of Charli XCX’s monologue, then again in a Food Network baking competition parody.
