“SNL” star Ego Nwodim reveals ongoing Jason Momoa 'Who you wit?' text thread: 'I've asked him to set me up'

Most recently, Momoa sent her "a picture of a stranger in the airport."

Who needs Tinder when you have Jason Momoa?

After befriending the Aquaman star during his guest stint on Saturday Night Live, Ego Nwodim has turned Momoa’s camera reel into her own personal dating app. During her Wednesday visit to Watch What Happens Live, the comedian told host Andy Cohen all about Momoa’s unique tactics for getting her a date.

"He wants to set me up with someone,” Nwodim began, before correcting herself. “Or rather, I’ve asked him to set me up with someone. And he’s like, ‘But I don’t know any guys who are worthy.’”

So instead of having Momoa pull options directly from his contact list, the duo developed a more spontaneous method.

"We have this thing that we do where I text him and I say, ‘Who you wit?,’ and he’s supposed to show me a picture of the man he’s with at the time,” Nwodim explained. “And he does! As recently as a few weeks ago, I hit him with the ‘Who you wit?,’ and he showed me a picture of a stranger in the airport.”

Momoa, who made his SNL debut back in December 2018, recently returned to host a November episode alongside musical guest Tate McRae. He shared a particularly memorable sketch with Nwodim, starring as a couple whose marriage is plagued by… the Roman Empire. Poking fun at the TikTok trend of Rome obsessed men, the sketch saw Momoa rapping while decked out in full gladiator attire, and culminated with Nwodim slapping him back into reality.

Outside of Momoa, Nwodim had plenty of funny stories to share about several other SNL guest hosts. Josh Brolin, she shared, immediately clocked her cinematic knowledge gaps and responded by sending a text “with 50 must-watch movies.” She noted, “It’s our one text,” and when Cohen asked if she’s gotten around to watching said movies, Nwodim admitted, “I still haven’t started my homework.”

The SNL star also recalled ordering sushi from Nobu with Kristen Wiig, who opted to put the bill on production’s tab, and also referred to the “turn on” of Eddie Murphy whispering in her ear, “You did a good job, funny girl.”

You can hear Nwodim recall fascinating memories from even more SNL guest hosts in the WWHL clip above.
