SNL Video: Andy Samberg and Mikey Day Show Michael Keaton Their Best Beetlejuice — Watch
It’s almost Halloween, which means for all you Beetlejuices out there: It’s showtime!
Michael Keaton hosted this week’s Saturday Night Live, and in his monologue, he mentioned his iconic role as the titular prankster in Beetlejuice and the new hit sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice — and complained about how often he’s accosted by sad men dressed up like his character. As if summoned, cast member Mikey Day bounced onstage in full Beetlejuice garb and makeup: “The juice is loose!”

Day begged Keaton to say his classic Beetlejuice line, “It’s showtime,” but Keaton claimed to not even remember how to say it. That’s when former SNL-er Andy Samberg popped in as a second Beetlejuice. (He had the week off from playing Doug Emhoff, you see.) Adopting a hilarious Beetlejuice growl, Samberg recalled how during his time as a cast member, “I tried and failed many times to get my BJ into the show”… “BJ” meaning Beetlejuice, of course. (The guy does love a good double entendre.)
Keaton even scolded cast member Sarah Sherman for dressing like Beetlejuice — but that’s just the way she dresses. Finally, the two Beetlejuices talked Keaton into doing the voice… because it just wouldn’t be Halloween without it.
