Soap Star Matthew Cowles Dies at 69

Matthew Cowles, who was best known for his role as Billy Clyde Tuggle on the soap opera “All My Children,” died May 22 at the age of 69.
His manager, Tsu Tsu Stanton confirmed the news via Twitter:
The Daytime Emmy nominee, who was married to “The Good Wife’s” Christine Baranski and was the son of Broadway producer Chandler Cowles, was also a playwright and stage actor. He appeared on Broadway in revivals of “Sweet Bird of Youth” and “The Time of Your Life” and starred in the Edward Albee play “Malcolm,” which was based on the James Purdy novel. He also appeared in films “Nurse Betty,” “Shutter Island” and “The Juror.” His TV credits also include “Oz” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
