This week officially kicks off the holiday season and while we anticipate the time spent with family and friends, fans are always faced with a pre-emption or two surrounding their favorite soaps — and this year isn’t any different.

Thanksgiving Day
On Thursday, November 28, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful will not be seen on Thanksgiving day, due to CBS sports coverage. For those of you who can deal with a game replacing your soap for one day (or two), viewers will be treated to an NFL faceoff between the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions.
However, Days of Our Lives will stream a new episode, one that is going to be filled with familiar returns and devastation, as Julie discovers that her beloved husband Doug has passed away.
Watch Days on Peacock
And for you General Hospital fans… Good news and bad news… Though the ABC soap will still be on, it’ll air an encore of the July 19 episode where Laura and Dante visited Lulu in the hospital.
Black Friday
Then on Friday, November 29, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful will once again be preempted. This time for college football as the Minnesota Golden Gophers take the field against the Wisconsin Badgers on Black Friday. General Hospital won’t be seen either, as the Oklahoma State Cowboys play against the Colorado Buffaloes followed by an episode of College Football Studio.
Again, Days of Our Lives fans will get to stream their favorite soap, as news of Doug’s death rocks Salem, and Marlena shares news about John.
Everyone at Soaps.com wishes our readers and their families a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and we’ll see you back here on Monday, December 2, for a full uninterrupted week of drama.
