Sophie Turner moved Jennifer Lawrence to tears shooting ‘Dark Phoenix' death scene
On Tuesday night, the cast of Dark Phoenix joined Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where Jennifer Lawrence talked about getting emotional during Raven’s death scene, which, despite some viewers apparently not being aware of it, became public knowledge a long time ago.
Lawrence admitted being moved to tears while shooting Raven’s death scene with Sophie Turner, but it wasn’t just because Turner’s an amazing actress.
“I teared up a little bit watching Sophie in that scene,” Lawrence said. “It was so …her reaction to my death was so raw, and I died with my eyes open. It was so honest and real, and it’s because she really was crying because her dialect coach, right before the take, took her JUUL away.”
Turner agreed playfully as Lawrence continued, “She started genuinely tearing up. It was, like, the performance of the year.”
“So that’s where you get your motivation, from your JUUL cigarette?” Kimmel asked.
“Yep, it’s how to act,” Turner joked. “Take it away and then you give it back, and that’s happy and sad.”
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on ABC. Watch clips and full episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live! for free on Yahoo View.
