'The Sopranos' Star Drea de Matteo Says Her Son Hates That She's on OnlyFans
Drea de Matteo was introduced to households everywhere in the late '90s and early '00s on The Sopranos. She's continued to work as an actor since then, but in recent days, she confessed she's been struggling to make ends meet.
She turned to OnlyFans, launching her account last year, which she confessed in a Daily Mail interview "saved" her and her family's lives and financial situation. And while de Matteo has been raking it in, not everyone in the family is on board—namely, her 12-year-old son Waylon.
De Matteo stopped by The Sage Steele Show and shared how her kids have been reacting to her new job. Whenever her son protests what she does, she has to remind him where the money is coming from.
"[I asked him] Do you like that jacket you just asked me to buy you? You like all the things that you want that make you happy? You like that new PC that you begged for for Christmas? Because you wouldn't have that s--t if Mommy didn't show her a--!" she stated plainly.
Her no-filter parenting style extended to how she informed her kids to react if they get bullied over their mom's side hustle. Her advice was simple: "If they say anything, say 'Those boobies fed me when I was a little baby, and they're still feeding me now.'"
Before joining OnlyFans, de Matteo was in admittedly rough financial waters. "They put me into foreclosure and my house had flooded, so I was trying to sell the house quickly... before they took it," she told The Daily Mail in February. "At the same time, I lost my mom, and my other mom, who has dementia, had run out of money for her caregiver. I didn't know which way was up."
Once she decided to start using the platform, she quickly saw her bank account start to grow. "I kept putting more pictures up," she said. "I was like, 'Holy s--t.' In five minutes, I was able to pay back [the real estate company] who kept the sale of my house."
"It saved us. OnlyFans saved my life, 100 percent. I can't believe I'm saying that, but it really did save us," she concluded. "Anybody that wants to condemn me and put me down, go for it. I just hope you never find yourself in the position I was in to take care of two little kids."
