South Station cocktail bar serving drinks, slushes with a punch card
South Station is Tallahassee's latest new spot for drinks and mingling.
Located at 1215 S. Adams, the cocktail bar is now open in the same location as the former Happy Motoring!, a bar and food truck hub across from Proof Brewing Co.
Seven Hills Hospitality — the same company behind the Liberty Bar & Restaurant, El Cocinero in Midtown, Hawthorn Bistro & Bakery and Black Raddish in Midtown and Bar 1903 downtown — is bringing its bar concept to the south side.
The soft opening took place April 19. Like its predecessor, South Station is tapping into nostalgia and the familiarity of a service station with a fun and colorful palate.
Menu items are a mix of light bites, shareables, handhelds like the "South Station dog" ($7) and chicken and waffle cone ($12), made with an in-house waffle cone, chicken thigh, honey butter, spicy syrup and fresh berries.
For the "thirsty traveler," South Station serves a drink menu that includes the "grassy knees ($13), made with Fords gin, cloosterbitters, mint syrup, lime, cilantro tincture and soda, and adult slushes like the "south side" ($15) that's made with St. Augustine gin, mint and lime.
It also specialized in custom punch drinks. On Facebook, South Station indicated its approach to making unique punch options.
"When we began designing our Bar Program, one the first things we knew we wanted was a customizable Punch option. We love a good punch but no punch can perfectly meet everyone’s taste. That’s where the Punch Card comes in.
