It's 'No Way Home' for Tom Holland as Marvel announces the official title of the latest 'Spider-Man' sequel
Who says you can't go home? Well... the title of Tom Holland's third Spider-Man movie for one. Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios officially unveiled the name of the currently shooting superhero sequel as Spider-Man: No Way Home, which completes the trilogy that started with 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming and continued in 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. And since notorious spoiler-breaker Holland can't be trusted to deliver the news himself, the studios dropped the reveal on the movie's various social media channels.

The No Way Home reveal capped an intense 24-hour period where the movie's three stars — Holland, Jacob Batalon and Zendaya — trolled fans with various different titles on their own social feeds. Holland, for example, suggested it was going to be Spider-Man: Phone Home: a knowing reference to one of those old movies that Peter Parker is always talking about in the middle of big battle scenes.
Meanwhile, Zoomer icon Zendaya dropped a more up-to-the-minute reference, "confirming" that the movie was actually called, Spider-Man: Home Slice.
Not to be outdone by his co-stars, Batalon claimed that the title was Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker, which implied a darker third act than audiences might be expecting.
All that goofing off compelled fans to get into the title-making act, and they flooded Twitter with alternate suggestions.

In the end, though, returning director Jon Watts — the first filmmaker to direct a full MCU trilogy, though Ant-Man's Peyton Reed and Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gunn are close behind — settled on No Way Home as the name that will appear on multiplex marquees when the movie premieres exclusively in theaters this Christmas. And Twitter applauded the reveal, even if they still had additional suggestions. Some also noted a possible reference to a certain six-sided WandaVision Easter egg in the announcement video. You probably won't be surprised to learn that Holland himself is a big fan of the events currently unfolding in Westview, N.J.
Tom Holland is just as obsessed with #WandaVision as the rest of us.

Details on the exact story of Phone Home... uh, Home Slice... no, Home-Wrecker... wait, No Way Home remain scarcer than Uncle Ben appearances in the MCU. But Holland shared one key detail with Yahoo Entertainment while discussing his new Apple TV+ film, Cherry. "I saw an edit three or four days ago of a fight scene that we've been shooting for about a month and it is easily the most impressive fight scene I've ever seen in a superhero movie," teases the veteran of Marvel's cosmos-spanning Infinity War. "I was blown away by it. From the work that the stunt boys have done to the work some of the actors and myself have done on set, it's just been incredible, and I'm really, really excited for people to see it."
I love that Tom Holland knows everyone wants new Spider-Man 3 scoop so he came armed with one tidbit "to continue this train of getting people excited."

In other interviews, Holland has talked about how No Way Home is the "most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made," which many have taken as confirmation that previous wall-crawlers Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be part of the web-slinging action this time around along with such Spider-verse co-stars as Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina. That's a rumor that the actor has taken great pains to not comment on, although his co-star, Zendaya, pointedly remarked to Yahoo Entertainment that the set has been a very busy place. "There's a lot going on — a lot going on," the Emmy-winning actress said during an interview for her new Netflix vehicle, Malcom & Marie. Then again, for these hard-working heroes, that probably makes it feel more like home.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will premiere in theaters this Christmas.
