Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith and later portrayed Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi, will present Ewan McGregor with his Walk of Fame star. Christensen expressed enthusiasm for more Star Wars projects, especially those involving McGregor.
“If it means that I got to do more with Ewan, then that’s a no-brainer, but I really hope that he continues with the character,” Christensen stated. “Just as a fan, it’s so exciting to get to watch him play Obi-Wan — he’s just so good at it,” he added. (via Variety)
Christensen recalls Ewan McGregor mentoring him in green screen acting. He remembers meeting McGregor early on and receiving guidance from him during their time on set.
“The first time I met Ewan was in Australia,” Christensen recalled. “I remember walking into the hair and makeup room, and he came over and gave me a big hug. Right away I knew that I was standing in front of a friend,” he further stated.
In a previous interview from last year with Entertainment Weekly’s Dagobah Dispatch podcast, Christensen shared that his return in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka had “definitely reignited a spark in me to want to work more.” He expressed interest in further exploring Darth Vader’s story, saying, “I would love to get to do more, and I’d love to get to continue with Star Wars.”
On Thursday, September 12, at 11:30 am PT, the Hollywood Walk of Fame will award Ewan McGregor with its 2,789th star.
