Steph Curry Helps ‘The View’ Surprise Disabled Veteran With New Home
NBA star Steph Curry helped The View unveil a new handicapped-accessible house on Wednesday.
Timothy Birckhead served in the U.S. Navy until an incurable neurological disease left him in the care of his mother. The View partnered with Homes for Our Troops to build a house for Birckhead that would better accommodate his disability.
After being amazed by the house, Birckhead toured the man cave, which was customized with elements of his favorite team, the Golden State Warriors. Whoopi Goldberg opened the door to the adjoining bathroom, and Warriors star Steph Curry popped out.
Birckhead’s family went wild with excitement. Curry said, “I’m just happy to be here with you guys. I heard a lot about your family and about your story, and just to be able to celebrate your new home for your family is what it’s all about.”
Curry even showed off his contribution to the house, besides a signed jersey: a large dish filled to the brim with Gummi Bears, which he’s known to love.
